Free 'Deep Time' exhibit runs through Aug. 24

DEEP TIME takes visitors on a journey to the prehistoric ocean that once covered the Sonoran Desert, as imagined through the eyes of Tucson-based artists Lex Gjurasic and Rachel Slick. This sculpted environment uses color, pattern, light, texture and experimental materials to create an ocean-bottom experience of being surrounded by fanciful sea life, including kelp towers, coral reefs, an underwater garden, a bioluminescent tunnel and a large sea beast.

Come see for yourself through August 24 at Civic Center Library.

Scottsdale launches community services magazine

Scottsdale Life

The city of Scottsdale's Community Services division has created a new publication, called Scottsdale Life, to share upcoming programs, events and services for its Parks and Recreation, Library, and Senior Center areas.

Scottsdale Life combines information that used to appear in the Parks and Recreation Activity Guide, library calendar of events, and the senior center's 'Quarterly' brochures. Each department now has a section in the Scottsdale Life magazine dedicated to its quarterly information while also allowing the reader to easily see what else is going on in the city.

Scottsdale Life will be printed four times a year and available for free at city buildings, libraries, community centers, and senior centers. It will also be mailed to homes of recent Parks and Recreation program participants. The magazine is viewable online.
