Using the 'Tools of Yesterday' Mr. Royce Manuel uses a hands on approach to recreate utilitarian objects such as functional Bows & Arrows, hand knapped arrowheads, and Traditional Agave Kiahas (Pima Burden Baskets). He focuses on elements of the past, the importance of everyday tools and the principles of simpler times. Mr. Manuel is a member of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community who has played an important role in perpetuating cultural knowledge. His work has been shared not only within the realms of his own tribal people, but also with various governmental organizations, museums and non-profits who call upon him regularly to provide a variety of demonstrations, classes and events.
