Join us for a free community resource fair to raise awareness centered around dementia. Scottsdale Human Services is committed to raising awareness, reducing stigmas and building a more dementia friendly community. Scottsdale Senior Centers offers an engaging, creative session for participants and a family member. Designed for those experiencing dementia, Alzheimer's or low vision, the session includes singing, storytelling and creating seasonal-themed art. No registration is required for this free class.

Yoga, Meditation and Sound Healing Workshops

Enjoy a relaxing experience with gentle yin yoga postures, yoga nidra guided meditation, mixed with sound healing and aromatherapy. Props provided include blocks, blankets and bolsters. This class will be mainly on the floor with the use of props to support the body. This practice is accessible to mostly everyone and can be done seated as well. Two, two-hour workshops will be held at Via Linda Senior Center. Register online or at the front desk.

Gentle Movement and Deep Relaxation in Chair

Join expert instructor, Brigitte Yancy, for this 75-minute workshop to relax deeply in a chair or on the floor if you prefer. Practices will include a guided breathing practice to quiet and rest your mind. Props such as yoga bolsters, yoga blankets, chairs and stretch straps will be provided. All students are requested to bring a small pillow or travel neck pillow for their head, a mat if they wish to practice on the floor and any other props they wish to have on hand.
