Master of Coin (VITA) will be at Via Linda Senior Center and AARP will be hosted at Granite Reef Senior Center. These volunteer tax professionals will be available by appointment to help you prepare your taxes.

"All Things Senior" Expo & Trade Show

Join us for the annual "All Things Senior" Expo & Trade Show from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and learn about various products, resources and services available to you.
Ballroom Dance Night

Grab your dancing partner and join Via Linda Senior Center for a Ballroom Dance Night. From 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, you can enjoy live music, dance instruction, refreshments, raffle prizes and a night to remember.
Registration is required at $10 for residents and $13 for non-residents.
Croquet Comes to Via Linda

Come learn from a pro and perfect your croquet game! This free, drop-in activity will teach you the technique and tactics of golf croquet. Equipment is provided and comfortable shoes and attire are suggested. Drop-in from 1 – 2:30 p.m. every Thursday through May.

Transportation Resources for Scottsdale and Maricopa County

Join us from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Feb. 17, for a free presentation on the different resources and options for transportation available to residents of Scottsdale and Maricopa County. Learn about the different qualifications and how to choose specific resources.
Geared toward seniors and individuals with disabilities, we hope you leave the presentation with a new feeling of independence, greater socialization and help improve the quality of your life.
Chinese New Year

Celebrate the Year of the Horse with a Chinese New Year Celebration from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Granite Reef Senior Center. Enjoy an authentic Chinese dance performance, delicious catering and camaraderie with friends.
Registration is required at $10 for residents and $13 for non-residents.

The Vista Family Recreation Program is looking for volunteers who can dedicate time to tutor children at Vista del Camino. This opportunity supports youth and families by providing academic help as an extension of the Vista Family Rec Program. Volunteers will work directly with kiddos in a supportive, community-focused environment and play an important role in helping them succeed. VITA Tax Preparation

Come get free tax preparation help at Vista del Camino Community Center. No registration required! Walk-in hours will be 1 - 5 p.m. on Thursdays, Feb. 5 - April 9. Make sure to bring your Social Security card, Photo ID, all 2025 tax documents and 2024 Federal and State tax returns.
Human Services Staff Spotlight: Elizabeth Heavenrich

At the heart of Scottsdale's Community Action Program at Vista del Camino Community Center is Human Services Operations Supervisor, Elizabeth Heavenrich. Elizabeth has been a dedicated member of the Vista del Camino team from the start. From a part-time caseworker to now a supervisor, her dedication to Scottsdale residents has been unwavering.
Elizabeth assists Scottsdale residents gain access to essential services such as rent, utility and mortgage assistance. She ensures that applications are reviewed thoroughly and processed accurately to provide quality assurance checks to maintain compliance with funding policies, which are critical for sustaining vital community resources.
Although she manages operations, Elizabeth remains deeply connected to the human side of her job, taking calls from residents in crisis, offering guidance on applications and connecting residents to resources. "We do our best to keep Scottsdale residents in their homes and keep their lights on," she says — a simple phrase that captures the heart of her mission.
