Scottsdale, Arizona (February 1, 2026) Scottsdale Police arrested two juveniles in connection with an attempted robbery and home invasion that occurred on January 31, 2026.
At approximately 10:44 a.m., Scottsdale Police officers responded to a report of an unknown problem at a residence in the 9800 block of Windrose Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered an active home invasion in progress.
While approaching the front door, officers observed a female victim inside the residence screaming and a juvenile suspect struggling with an adult male. Officers forced entry into the home, at which point two suspects fled through the rear of the residence, entered a vehicle, and drove away from the area. A brief police pursuit ensued.
The pursuit ended when the suspects drove into a nearby strip mall and reached a dead-end. Both suspects, identified as juveniles, were taken into custody without incident or injury.
Further investigation revealed the suspects posed as delivery service employees to gain access to the residence. Once the door was opened, the suspects forced entry and restrained two victims, while a third victim hid elsewhere in the home. Evidence related to the crime was located both at the scene and inside the suspect vehicle.
The juveniles were arrested on the listed felony charges and transported to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Durango Juvenile Detention Facility: Three counts of Aggravated Assault, one count of Kidnapping, 2nd Degree Burglary, Criminal Impersonation, Disorderly Conduct, and Felony Flight.
The investigation remains ongoing. Due to the suspects’ ages, no additional identifying information will be released at this time. This is an isolated incident, and there are no outstanding suspects or a threat to the community.
"This case reflects the outstanding teamwork, training, and decisive action of our officers," said Chief Joe LeDuc. "They moved quickly, coordinated effectively, and brought a dangerous situation to a safe conclusion. Let this be clear. If you come to Scottsdale to commit violent crimes, our officers will find you and hold you accountable."
