AARP Driver Safety

AARP Driver Safety teaches safe driving techniques that make a difference in your life and community. Join the millions of safer drivers on the road with AARP Smart Drivers Course. Our enhanced course is based on the latest driver's safety research and insights. You will learn evidence-based safe driving strategies and refresh your knowledge of the lasted rules and hazards of the road. After course completion you may even be eligible for a multiyear car insurance discount.

Vista del Camino Community Center

Vista del Camino Community Center provides a variety of services to Scottsdale residents to prevent homelessness, meet the basic needs of individuals and families in crisis, relieve economic and emotional stress and provide recreation activities for families.

Vista's Free Homework Help Program

Students in grades 2 - 4 can get free homework help and academic support at Vista del Camino starting on Mondays and Wednesdays.

First session starts 3 - 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14.

Agency Spotlight:
Roger Lurie, Board President for Partners for Paiute

For more than 32 years, Roger Lurie has called Scottsdale home, and during that time, he has made a lasting impact on our community. Today, he serves as Board President for Partners for Paiute, a role inspired by his first encounter with the organization four years ago. Roger shared that he was immediately moved by the meaningful support Partners provides to Scottsdale residents and felt compelled to help the organization grow its reach and impact. With a deep compassion for vulnerable populations, he saw tremendous potential for Partners for Paiute to expand its innovative efforts and strengthen its fundraising capacity to better serve those facing barriers across the city.

Partners for Paiute offers vital assistance to residents experiencing financial hardship, including rental and utility support, temporary housing and help with medical expenses. The organization also enriches families who attend programs at the Paiute campus through ESL classes, recreational activities and community outreach events. While much of their work centers around the Paiute neighborhood, Roger emphasizes that Partners is committed to helping any individual or family living in Scottsdale in a crisis that could lead to catastrophic loss such as unemployment and or homelessness.

When asked what Partners is most proud of, Roger highlights their unwavering support of the Paiute Neighborhood Center. He values the center’s essential role in the community, from Family Resource Center programming to social services and case management, describing it as a critical layer of support for residents seeking stability and crisis intervention. Both Paiute and Partners work hand in hand to help individuals avoid catastrophic loss, including homelessness or family separation.

For Roger, the most rewarding part of serving on the board is witnessing the successes of families who, with the help of Partners for Paiute, overcome obstacles and regain stable housing, employment and social support. His leadership reflects a commitment to ensuring Scottsdale families have access to the resources they need to thrive.
