Summer Reading Program

Keep on reading with the Tails and Tales Summer Reading Program! There's still time to register yourself and the whole family to earn points and prizes. Prize packs, including a free book, will be available for pick up starting Aug. 2.

Shark Week Storytimes

Family Storytime

Play and learn together using books, puppets, rhymes, chants and fingerplays to promote early literacy while learning about sharks. Join us on our YouTube channel, 10 a.m., Monday, July 19.

Crafty Storytime

Make some fun ocean animals to create a cool toss and catch game. Craft kits can be picked up, while supplies last, starting Thursday, July 15 at any of the drive-thru windows, curbside, or inside Civic Center Library and Mustang Library during open hours. Join us on our YouTube channel, 10 a.m., Thursday, July 22.

Scottsdale’s TAB Teen Talent Show

Teens! This is your chance to show us what you got. Record and submit your awesomest, most bestest talent. Submissions will be accepted from July 3-13 via social media under the #ScottsdaleLibraryTalent or unlisted YouTube links can be sent to [email protected]. Scottsdale Library's very own Teen Advisory Board will vote for a winner on July 22!

E-Resources for Kids!

Avoid the summer slump - keep reading and learning alive with digital storytimes, read-alongs, kid's television shows and family films. Tumblebooks has animated streaming picture and chapter books that give kid's ebooks a special energy that inspires. Kanopy Kids is another service of streaming television and family films. Sesame Street, PBS, Reading Rainbow, and more are available for streaming with just one credit for thirty days! Also available are ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines.
