Hometown Happy Hour: Park It!

Join us for a non-alcoholic "mock-tail" and a light snack before listening to hometown historian Joan Fudala’s fun-filled discussion of Scottsdale’s Parks and Rec centers. Begun by the 1950s Civic Coordinating Council, Scottsdale's Parks and Recreation programs have entertained and kept fit multiple generations of residents and have enjoyed the generosity of civic groups that support our Scottsdale parks. Learn all about it during this photo-rich presentation. Meet up first in the Copper Gallery, starting at 5 p.m., for a beverage and a light snack before listening to the fascinating presentation in the auditorium at 5:30 p.m. Registration is encouraged but not required.

INTERWOVEN: Telaraña Fiber Arts Guild

INTERWOVEN: Telaraña Fiber Arts Guild

During the pandemic lockdown of 2020, the Telaraña Fiber Arts Guild proposed a challenge to keep their members engaged with one another and celebrate Arizona’s beauty. The resulting fiber arts, and the visual images that inspired them, comprise this exhibition, located at the Public Gallery at Civic Center Library.
