Hometown Happy Hour – The History of Golf in Scottsdale

Play Golf! Scottsdale has been a golf destination since its first course debuted in 1910. Come "drive" down history's fairways with Scottsdale community historian Joan Fudala as she presents a photo-rich look back at how Scottsdale’s golf courses, events, celebrity players and companies have evolved over the past century. Also, be sure to drop in a few minutes early for a beverage and a light snack before the presentation.

Try convenient curbside hold pick-up to get your holds quickly – simply select "Civic Center Curbside" as your pickup library when placing holds and once you are notified that your items are ready for pickup, head to the specified curbside spots on N. 75th St., just north of E. 2nd St.

Spring is in the air, and it is a great time to get outside! Scottsdale is home to beautiful natural spaces and lots of great trails to explore. You can get started with birdwatching, wildflower hunting or animal spotting or just get out to stretch your legs. Or, if you like to appreciate nature from afar, there are great resources on the history and ecology of the Sonoran Desert as well as some beautiful photography of other people’s nature exploration.

Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library's Mobile Spirit Night

Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library is partnering with Chick-fil-A near Mustang Library (10652 N 89th Place) on Wednesday, March 15, for a Mobile Spirit Night. Place an order from the Chick-fil-A mobile application from 4 - 7 p.m. and the Friends will receive 20% of your dining room, pick-up or drive-thru order. Support the library while enjoying delicious chicken!
 



Scottsdale Memorial for the Fallen Dedication

Memorial Dedication

During the nation's armed conflicts and in the course of military duty, 66 Scottsdale area service members have made the ultimate sacrifice. Their names are now permanently engraved on the granite faces of the Scottsdale Memorial for the Fallen.

The new memorial will be dedicated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 18. The public is invited to attend the ceremony at Scottsdale City Hall's Memorial Lawn, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd. (on the east side of City Hall).

Scottsdale Family ArtsFest at SkySong

Scottsdale Family ArtsFest at SkySong

A new community event is coming to south Scottsdale March 24-25. The Scottsdale Family ArtsFest will celebrate visual, performing arts created by Scottsdale K-12 students. The free two-day festival of creativity will include performances, interactive demonstrations, creative interventions and culinary delights from local food trucks. Over the course of the event, attendees will experience performances and art exhibitions delivered by Scottsdale Unified School District students, family friendly arts activities presented by Scottsdale Arts Learning & Innovation, and interactive demonstrations from City of Scottsdale departments.

The event runs from 4 – 6 p.m. Friday, March 24, and will resume from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday, March 25 at the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center.
