Summer Reading Program

It's not too late to sign up for this year's "All Together Now" Summer Reading Program! Register today and count all the minutes you've spent reading to get fun prizes – there is a program for every age group. The last day to log points is Tuesday, Aug. 1, so make sure you sign up today!

Critter Fun with Phoenix Herpetological Society

(ages 5 and up) Get up close and personal with a variety of amazing Arizona reptiles! A trained volunteer will talk about reptile behavior, habitat, preservation and safety. Space is limited, so please see a staff person prior to the start of the program to pick up a ticket which will be your registration.

(all ages) Graphic novels are – KAPOW – fun for the whole family! Join us for superhero themed arts and crafts, games, photo booths and a movie showing. Come dressed as your favorite graphic novel characters (costumes must be family-friendly).

As of June 12, the publisher of the Arizona Republic has chosen to withdraw from Pressreader, our digital newspaper service. Arizona Republic does not offer a way for libraries to purchase digital access currently. We are sorry that we are no longer able to provide the digital Arizona Republic. On a better note, Pressreader has added USA Today, both the U.S. and International editions. It is also where you can access magazines like Newsweek, The Economist and many more for business, entertainment, hobbies, design and much more from around the world. Check out our other newspaper options like the New York Times, New York Times Cooking, New York Times Games and the Wall Street Journal at Magazines and Newspapers.

Live Entertainment and Fun for the Whole Family
at Scottsdale's 10th Annual 4th of July Celebration

Get ready for a fun evening of live entertainment and family-friendly activities as Scottsdale gears up for its 10th annual 4th of July Celebration at WestWorld, 16601 N. Pima Road. Taking place from 5 - 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, the festivities will culminate with one of the largest fireworks display in Arizona. Activities include a rodeo, medieval times junior knight training, slider eating contest, Disney characters, circus performers and the annual Parade of Heroes.

This year's event aims to be zero waste -- knives, forks and paper and food waste will be composted through a partnership with Recycled City. This is a cashless event. Get more information and buy tickets at Scottsdale4th.com.
