GENERAL PLAN 2035 AMENDMENT UPDATE

An open house is being held regarding a request to amend the 2035 General Plan from Mixed-Use Neighborhoods to Commercial land use designation pursuant to Resolution 12287 for the +/-7.22 gross acre site located at 8705 E. McDowell Road. All approved zoning entitlements and stipulations to allow for different land uses on the property will remain as previously approved with case 11-ZN-2021 by City Council.

   

An open house is being held regarding a request to amend the 2035 General Plan from Office to Commercial land use designation pursuant to Resolution 12255 for the northern +/-1.97 acres of an approximately +/- 3.53 gross acre site located at 11355 E. Shea Boulevard. All approved zoning entitlements and stipulations on the property for the development of three office and retail buildings and two single family homes will remain as previously approved with case 8-ZN-2020 by City Council.

CITY SEEKS ADDITIONAL INPUT ON OLD TOWN SCOTTSDALE CHARACTER AREA PLAN & ZONING ORDINANCE UPDATES

The city is in the process of updating the Old Town Scottsdale Character Area Plan as well as sections of the city’s Zoning Ordinance specific to the downtown area.

Based on direction from City Council, additional outreach is still needed – and we are asking for your input. The following topics will be discussed at 3 sessions planned for two hours each (same content at each session) on Monday, March 7:

  • The Provision of Open Space in Old Town,
  • The definition of Mixed-Use Development,
  • Building Height in Old Town, and
  • Development Bonus Provisions.

To register and participate in one of the open house sessions, please visit scottsdaleaz.gov, keyword Old Town Updates.

As the Old Town Plan and Zoning Ordinance updates progress through the public participation and hearing processes, additional participation events will be offered, and draft content will be made available for public review. Please continue to stay engaged in the process using the Old Town Updates website.

Grants available to spruce up neighborhoods. The Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program is live and ready to provide assistance in maintaining and revitalizing Scottsdale’s mature, non-HOA neighborhoods. Eligible projects include landscape maintenance, landscape enhancement, perimeter wall maintenance, limited alley improvements and neighborhood signage. Scottsdale’s Neighborhood Advisory Commission will review and consider NEGP applications for possible funding. Learn more and submit an application.

This publication is part of a series updated periodically in order to visually track reinvestment occurring in Scottsdale.
