FYI

Investing in Our Scottsdale: Water storage and recovery wells. Scottsdale is building four aquifer storage and recovery wells at strategic locations throughout the city as part of our commitment to maximizing renewable surface water supplies and minimizing the use of groundwater. This will strengthen long-term water supply sustainability by recharging high quality, potable water directly into the aquifer when water demand is low (late fall and winter) and retain the capability to withdraw groundwater during high demand or emergencies. Esri User Conference showcases GIS team’s work. Esri, an international supplier of geographic information systems software, hosts the conference each year to share how thousands of cities use GIS technology to solve problems and foster greater understanding. A Scottsdale image was featured in the general session, and other printed city maps were displayed throughout the week, including this map by GIS Analyst Mele Koneya showing Scottsdale Fire Department’s call load during the 2022 WM Phoenix Open.
